real growth for reaching goals

Dr. Lizzy Rollo-Guiney, PT, DPT

As a mom of three, Dr. Lizzy knows firsthand that every child develops in their own way… and none of us are handed a manual. That’s why RG PT & Wellness exists: to give families personalized support, trusted guidance, and a place to feel truly seen.

Signs Your Baby May Benefit from Pediatric Physical Therapy

Every baby develops at their own pace, but sometimes a little extra support can make a big difference. If something about your baby’s movement or positioning has been on your mind, you’re not alone and it’s always okay to ask.

You may notice things like:

  • Your baby struggles with tummy time or becomes very upset when placed on their belly

  • Your baby prefers looking or turning their head to one side

  • You’ve noticed a flat spot on your baby’s head

  • Your baby’s body feels very stiff or very floppy

  • Your baby isn’t reaching, tracking toys, or bringing their hands to midline

  • Your baby moves differently on one side of their body (reaching with one hand, pushing off one leg, etc.)

  • Your baby seems delayed with rolling, sitting, crawling, or walking

  • Your baby seems uncomfortable moving or exploring their environment

  • Your baby/toddler has a pronounced belly sticking out with bulging above their belly button when they attempt to sit up.

  • Your baby is crawling, but with one leg up or bum scooting.

Some of the conditions Dr. Lizzy commonly helps families navigate include torticollis (head turning preference), plagiocephaly (flat head), congenital diastasis recti, muscle tone differences, and gross motor delays.

Most importantly, you don’t need a diagnosis to reach out. If you have a concern, or even just a gut feeling, it’s worth having a conversation.
